Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University. She is diligently working towards getting a Masters of Education in Special Education and Behavioral Analysis at the University of North Texas. She has completed 40 hours of Registered Behavioral Therapy training.
Kennedy has spent many years working with students with disabilities. Including time working for an autism clinic and volunteering at a Mental Health Mental Retardation Center in College Station. She interned at a nonprofit research charity for autism research in London and has had the privilege to have taught 1st and 2nd grade in a behavior/autism classroom.
When she is at the clinic, she enjoys working with older children. She spends much of her time facilitating peer/group interaction time. Her favorite part of every day is circle time!! During circle time, the kids sing and dance to some of their favorite songs; they learn about the date, weather, and continents. Kennedy enjoys the opportunity to play games with the clients and work on their peer interaction skills! She says it is such a fun part of the day, and the kids enjoy it immensely.
Kennedy absolutely adores the clients she works with at the clinic. She loves spending time with each of them and feels it is her responsibility to bring joy into their learning while instilling them with the confidence to fulfill their dreams.
When Kennedy is not working or studying, she enjoys surrounding herself with the people she loves. She is almost always chatting on the phone with her family, cooking dinner for friends, or finding a new adventure.
Her puppy, Tucker, a Cavalier King Charles, is her pride-and-joy He goes almost everywhere with her—making him the perfect travel companion.
In her lifetime, Kennedy wants to live for an extended period of time in a foreign country, learn the language, learn about their healthcare for children with disabilities, and learn about their culture.
